The 'Pinterest' wedding

A friend of a friend recently got married. Her wedding was cute. My friend described it as a “pinterest” wedding. She said it the way my mother said “they had little crocheted swans at their wedding”. I have since grown up in fear of the crocheted swan. Heaven forbid you have something that dates your day (cue *gasp!*). Looking back I now realise the doubt started with the photobooth post. I love all the cutesy stuff – but I need to stay true to who the fisherman and I are, and that for him is totally chilled and down to earth, whereas for me it’s going fucking crazy for three hours to achieve that totally chilled and down to earth look. So to all things wedding right now – I say kiss my ass. I will do what I wanna do, the way I wanna do it. The ranting in this post may have been powered by that 4pm itch you get when you just want to go home, but you’re stuck at the office in your open plan office with the resident clock watcher breathing down your neck.

The Photo Booth – Overexposed?

I love the photo booth concept. I saw the idea for the first time at a friends wedding last year, just before I got engaged and turned into bridezilla of the interweb. They took it really easy and simply dumped a bunch of props in a box and let people go wild. It worked and it really was fun.

Our wedding concept is very DIY vintage carnival (????) which means a photo booth will have to include the fake moustaches / glasses etc. Very cute, but is it going to date my day? And if it does – does it really matter? Maybe I’ve just been over thinking it and its time for me to take off the funny glasses and get back to the real business at hand. Planning a marriage.

Looking at all these AMAZEBALLS (yes, I just said that) options for a DIY backdrop, I can’t help but love it.
