Confessions of a Shoe Ho

I love shoes as much as the fisherman loves fishing. ALOT.

So what better way to express my love than to wear the perfect pair(s) of heels on our big day? I've spotted and interesting trend in customising wedding shoes and its definitely something I am dying to try, all I need to do is find the perfect "canvas".

King Protea

What could possibly be more vintage South African than the amazing King Protea? A definite must have!
I love love love the softness of the colour palette! Soft pinks, greens and cream, add some gold for the glam factor and I am set!

My apologies for the lack of credits! I promise to do better next time.

Trendspotting: Doilies

Growing up I had one of those mothers who put a doily on EVERYTHING! From the toilet to the radio to the couch... Strangely enough she never actually made any of them, but I have two aunts who could possibly be the world champions in speed crocheting. I vaguely remember at the ripe old age of 5 declaring my life a doily free zone. I hated them with a passion! How on earth was I supposed to sit on tables if there was a damn doily making my arse slide off?

O how things have changed.

From fussy to vintage the Doily is making a comeback of note! And I think that they are just darling!

Glove-Love

To Glove, or not to Glove? That is the question.

No one wears gloves like Jackie O.... should the rest of us mere mortals even try?

When I look at gloves I think vintage, and these give me that warm feeling all over!
These are my lust haves for the day.

O Lovely Cake!

I don't like cake. I'm just not a cake person, give me a samosa and I'll be in heaven! Cake just doesn't do it for me. Unfortunately (well, fortunately for my thighs!) I cant very well have a Wedding Samosa..... And so the hunt for the perfect cake began!

I very rapidly realised that Swiss buttercream is the way to go if I want a yummy cake, but did that mean a not so pretty cake?

I think not! All of the cakes below are apparently iced with buttercream in some form or other!

Can anyone say swoon?

Phrases in a Frame

One thing I have noticed is I seem to be a sucker for these:

Sound familiar? This phrase sums up the entire feel of our wedding!

So true Mr Fisherman!
I am already collecting the frames!

My Wedding Inspiration Board

I have finally finished a project I've been working on since March when the Fisherman and I got engaged! One of the first things everyone told me I needed to do was work on an inspiration board, so i googled it. I found so many inspiration boards - I wanted to puke! How on earth was I supposed to come up with a star worthy inspiration board as fantastic as the ones on all the wedding sites?

Especially when two of my brideslaves are amazing fashionistas in their own right - both of whom warned me in no uncertain terms that YES - they would be judging!

Well after many months of image searching (and taking one or two pic's myself), this is what I've come up with. Nowhere near as polished as I would have liked, unfortunately not all my inspirational images would co-operate and be from the same color palette. But this definitely captures the mood of our big day.

Now all I have to do is turn it into a reality!
